Bookworm!!!

From February 24th, the exact date i decided to take a flight to Vietnam...i brought a book Even Thai Girls Cry...and up to now, i have developed back my sense of reading. Within a month, i have read 3 books, now starting the 4th....Piano Teacher..to get in the mood of Hong Kong. Happy i finally get my brain moving!!

Even Thai Girls Cry: Although the English was poor...i kinda like the fact i was going thought a story located in Thailand ( as i visited a month and a haft ), and i got to understand the mentality of Thai Ppl, pretty much similar to our Asian mentality...and their thoughts of the FARANGS.

Chinese Cinderella: Got me in the mood of China...touching child story of an unwanted daughter...i felt so blessed to be born in another generation..!

Stay Alive My Son: I got so affected from the story of the utopic communist community of the Khmer Rouge I had very weird dreams about  war and kept on thinking back of the families, the poverty in the Villages of Cambodia...

Hairdresser....
I think I Didn't cut my hair since October and going to the 6th month..i was desperately in need of a refreshment...got very sick of my split ends and uneven hair. A morning i Woke up form a weird dream.

I dreamed i was getting a hair cut form a trendy man, in the middle of Time Square NYC..he got me a nice degraded style and he made 2 nice braids on the sides to puff the hair up! I was so satisfied i walked away and talked to my friends..then realized i haven't paid so i ran back to him to pay.. it was a funny dream...

and also a sign...i was determined to get my hair done in LAOS! =) After few attempts..none of the hairdressers spoke English...we finally walked into one that spoke MANDARIN and that metro sexual hairdresser in a pink polo seems like he knew what i wanted! ...it was only 25000 kips ( 3$) and it was just worth if for the head massage during the washing...I've never had a long wash like this..so cool to be pampered =D

Lil journey on a motobike in Dalat

Loved the ride on motobike..the bike of my friend was a recent design ( Harley Davidson style), was a comfy ride as we exchanged seats on our way back.

Unfortunately, cricket farm was closed. The smell of the flower blossom ( white flowers)  of coffee trees on the road was pretty sweet. Impressive mountains of coffee plantation, saw Moka and Arabica plants! On the same road, you'd find families building bamboo baskets. As you would ask yourseft why would they make so much of those, your question is answered as you step in the silkworm factory. Did you know it takes 7kilo of silk cocoon to make a kilo of silk?? Step by step you'd follow how they boil the cocoon, remove the larva ( boiled ones then given to feed the pigs!!), and thh machine would unroll each cocoon to make it into big rolls of silk! The silk is then dried in a heating machine; then passed to the embroidery IBM machine to fabric big linen sheets with flower designs, In the same factory, you would see the color dying machine, then the step of cooking it to become very silky touch. By their entrance, many ladies are on their couture machine making some clothe (Just like my mom did at home when i was young ).

Elephant waterfall is one of a nice CATASTROPHE naturelle i would describe..As if a earthquake fragmented the river and the blocks all fall apart and cutted the river..making it become a waterfall. Even tho it was quite slippery, we managed to climb up and down on the rocks and enjoy the mist. =)

Other fun fact: There a was a nice pagoda with big bouddhas and shiva sculptures. After our prayer, we planned on eating out  lil lunch on the bench. It started raining so had to hide behing the Goun Yam temple on the side of the entrance to finish eating. As the motobike guide approched us to direct us to the waterfall, he was so surprised we were eating and having a bottle of red wine in the middle of the day: Oh you hab Red wine eh..oh is good!  hahaahaa Dalat's local red wine is so cheap...not even 3$ the bottle and its so good!

Dalattt

Mui Ne ---
Sand Dunes slides: Check! the view was spectacular..a desert out of nowhere! and sliding down the dune took 30 seconds...but forever to climb back up
Awesome jeep that never wanted to start..at 5am, we had to push the jeep to make it start!

Dalat---
I was kinda scared i'd run out of time to join Patsya in our 10 days rendez vous...so i hesitated a lot before deciding to go to Dalat...but i really think it is worth it now

It is the most charming Asian city up to now...all uphill and downhills, french architecture mixed with old buildings. We went trekking to the peak of LangBian Mountain...the view of the Lat Village down the Valley is just too nice!!! The crazy house, the main attraction i wanted to go to...is inspired and constructed likea  Gaudi house in Barcelona...made us run like kids in a labyrinthe...i so love funky and colorful architectures. Later it willl be a hotel, as it's still under construction since 1990. I would so love to spend a night there.

What's next...a cricket farm..the bobsleigh on the elephant waterfall, and silk factories. =)
Then  a ride to the NhaTrang Beach befor a 12h ride of bus to Hue-Hoi An

Times flies by so fast.. The few days with Patsya and Mathieu passed within a snap of fingers.. Done the city pretty much in 2 days, war museum, independance palace, markets, Notre-Dame church, post office... Then a 2 days trip to Mekong delta for the famous floating markets, coconut candy / vermicelli noodlefactories! Nice ride on the boats!!

I was supposed go travel alone as i went back from the 2 day trip .. But i guess we always get to meet wonderful ppl on the road and end up always having good company!! With my new frd Benoit, we went to the Cu Chi tunnel haft day trip! Claustrophobics, s'abstenir! after hearing all the stories abt how Viet Congs defeat Americans by thia tunnel, they are soo clever!!

Now at MuiNe beach.. I missed the beach since Thailand, so even if it's cold, we still went swimming the whole afternoon! Ca fait du bien glander.. Pis la grasse matinee!!! Tomorrow gonna ride a jeep to the white sand dunes and slide em down with a crazy carpet! It will be with the sunrise.. Departure at 5am... Why do trips need to start so damn early all the time -.-!! Sighh

And its kinda so obvious for me now, my addiction to facebook.. Can't access it since many days as vietnam usually blocks the website.. Its kinda boring to go on internet without consulting the account! Lol
